“Never quit. If you stumble get back up. What happened yesterday no longer matters. Today’s another day so get back on track and move closer to your dreams and goals. You can do it.”

The most inspiring success stories come from people who never gave up despite illnesses, poverty, or failures. Jerker Denrell, a professor and researcher at the Warwick Business School, argued that failures are the way to groundbreaking success. Examining failures and learning from them enables one to take better, more informed steps that widens the possibility for success. This goes to show that there’s a better option than giving up.

Henry Ford, the innovator who founded Ford Motor Company, experienced getting fired in his first job. His first two companies were dissolved, but those were the stepping stones to the making of Ford Motor Company which is now a globally acclaimed automaker.

Walt Disney, the most famous name in animation, was (astonishingly) fired by a newspaper editor because, “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” Like Ford, his early businesses also went bankrupt and were eventually dissolved. After several tries and learning from his failures, he co-founded the Walt Disney Company which is now legendary.

In the field of science, Charles Darwin was a revolutionary who introduced and solidified the theory of evolution. However, it was not without strong oppositions and criticisms. Through his in-depth research and tireless efforts, he is recognised as one of the most influential figures in the human history.

Sometimes certain circumstance makes quitting wise. Take the advice of Ram Mohan: “Leave if you must. But leave when you are strong, not weak. Leaving should be a choice and not the only option.”
